The emerged winner at the competition, HyperVerge, is a Silicon Valley and Chennai based startup founded in 2014 by Kedar Kulkarni, Vignesh Krishnakumar, Kishore Natarajan, Saivenkatesh Ashokkumar and Praveen Kumar. The startup uses deep learning to organize images. It has created several cutting-edge technologies for recognition of people, scenes, events, documents, objects within photos, and for analyzing photo quality to find bad photos, duplicates, spam photos, etc. All these technology module is coming in an app called Silver.
The jury for G-startup India included Sasha Mirchandani, founder & MD at Kae Capital, Amit Somani, managing partner at Prime Ventures andHiro Mashita, founder & director at M&S Partners.
G-Startup is a global platform for innovative mobile startups to showcase their product, reach out to international investors and collaborate with peers and industry experts. Launched for the first time in India, G-Startup competition was attended by more than 120 startups from across the world.
On winning at G-Startup India, Kedar Kulkarni, co-founder of HyperVerge said, “After coming to GMIC, we have already seen investment interest from atleast 3 groups from China. We are now looking forward to go to GMIC Beijing 2016 and compete with the rest of the winners from across the globe.”
G-Startup’s platform has given several disruptive mobile startups international exposure. As part of the win, HyperVerge will get a round-trip airfare to Beijing for GMIC Beijing 2016, where they will be given a demo booth to showcase their product.

Just last month, HyperVerge had raised about $1 Mn in seed round funding from New Enterprise Associates, Milliways Ventures and Naya Ventures.
